Questions raw feeders ask
Straight answers, from people who know how much work goes into a batch.
Will my cat eat it? +
It has no smell or taste to most cats. Stir it in at the end, once the batch is mixed. If yours is suspicious of any change, start with half the amount for the first batch and move to the full amount on the next one.
I cook my cat's food. Does that change anything? +
Only the timing. Taurine dissolves in water, so cooking can draw some of it out of the food. Add the scoop after the food has cooled, and the whole amount stays in the bowl.
I use a premix or completer. Should I add this? +
Most premixes already include taurine. Check the label of your premix before adding more, and ask the maker if the amount isn't listed.
How long does a tub last? +
One tub holds 30 level scoops, which is enough for about 90 pounds of food. For one average cat, that's about a year.
I have more than one cat. How do I dose? +
Dose by the batch, not by the cat. If all your cats eat from the same batch, one level scoop per 3 pounds of food covers all of them.
Does it replace anything in my recipe? +
No. Your recipe stays exactly the same, hearts and all. You're adding one measured ingredient on top.
What if it isn't for us? +
